Godzilla

So lately the sounds I hear from the back two (gated) rooms are mean cries and roaring sounds. Our Nater tater has become Godzilla or so I call him. He will crawl/stomp his way up to the gate that is attached to the kitchen door and walk his little hands up the gate and put his hands at the top of the gate and loudly clear his throat 5-6 times in a row. If he does not get a response from you within a few seconds he will do it again and again until you respond. My favorite response is to go charging in there like a monster with my arms above my head saying "RAWR RAWR RAWR!" He thinks it is absolutely hilarious and the other day I did this while running in with the camera to get some shots for you to enjoy. Also.... the boys are now holding their own bottles! Hallelujah! SO there are a few pictures for you to enjoy :)

Mobile babies

So within this last week the boys have gotten very mobile. Nathaniel crawls like crazy, and Aiden has been scooting around on his belly and crawling a couple of paces. Both boys can pull themselves up on anything they want to pull up on. Nathaniel is still the bully like he has been from day one. He knows Aiden is not fast enough so he will pull himself up on Aiden and smash his face into the ground. Aiden will get him back in his own time, in his own ways. Both boys have their first teeth, and Nathaniel has another one poking through. They seem to enjoy regular table food more than the nasty stuff in jars. So lunches have consisted of some type of left over meat, cottage cheese and tomatoes and whatever fruit we have chopped up very small and hand fed to the boys. That takes about an hour of my day just feeding them lunch :)
Our dear friend Cindy has taken pictures of the family this past weekend. Instead of posting all of the pictures, I will post a few here and on My Blog and the rest will be on my Flicker account so please go and enjoy the pictures! On her blog this week she will be featuring our family, so there should be some good pictures and reading there.
Today Nathaniel weighed in at 17.12 and Aiden weighed in at 17. I can't believe that only 9 months ago they only weighed 2 lbs and were fighting for their lives. How blessed we are to have an awesome God to guide them every step of the way.

Comments

A lot of you have emailed me and asked me if you can comment on the boys blog. OF COURSE! Please do. Even if you are just passing by and don't know us, comment and say hello! I would love to show this to the boys when they get older and they can see who followed them through the good times and the bad. Grammy, Amie, and everyone else... PLEASE COMMENT for the boys!

Grammy's boys

The twin's Grammy got them blankets for Christmas last year, and had their names embroidered on them. Well just a few nights ago I started to use the blankets because they were just too cute to use. But I got over that quick when we have found that every time we put these blankets on the boys, they melt into their bed and go to sleep with no fuss. I guess you can say it is Grammy's touch that eases them.

Sorry for the upside down picture and for cutting off Aiden's head, but I took it just a few moments ago and it is now 1 a.m.

9 month update

So again I am late at the monthly update on the boys. They turned 9 months on the 5th. They had their 9 month check up on Monday and they got their Polio and Hep B shots. At weigh in Nataniel was 16lbs 12oz, 26 inches long and his head is 43cm. Aiden at weigh in was 16 even, 24 3/4 inches long and his head was 42 cm. Aiden is getting soooo close to his brother in weight, height, and head size! There have been a few times where Kyle and I had to double take on who was who :)

Both boys have been getting on their knees and rocking, sometimes they even pull a knee forward or a hand, but then they face plant. Nate has learned that he can pull himself up on things, but he only goes as far as being on his knees thank goodness. Both are babbling and drooling up a storm. Nate has totally cut one bottom middle tooth, and is working on the one next to it. Aiden still has two little white humps on the bottom front, but he is pretty cranky which tells me by next week we should have something.

We had our high risk appointment on Thursday. They are very happy with their growth so far. If they adjust for their age and put them at 6 months Aiden would be 16th percentile for weight, less than 3rd percentile for height and just at 5th percentile for head circumference. If they keep him at the actual age of 9 months he is not even on the charts which is considered less than 3 percent. Nathaniel adjusted to 6 months for weight he would be 17th percentile, height 23rd percentile and head circumference he would be at 25th percentile. Keeping him at his actual age of 9 months he is less than 3rd percentile for everything but his head circumference which is right at 5th percentile. Dr. Cahill wants both boys to be in PT. MRDD's PT lady is on maternity leave and for whatever reason they do not have a replacement for while she is on leave. High Risk does not want to wait. So they are going to have the boys go to PT at the satellite Children's in Mason once a week no less than twice a month. Even though they are very impressed with their progress they don't want the boys to take any steps back as far as development.

The boys should any day now be getting their thumb splints. There was a hold up at the factory and well needless to say I called and gave them my two cents, and well guess what? they are sending them priority mail to me now. I guess the owner of the company was making them for us yesterday. So we should have some stylin pictures soon!

Feeding time has gotten a bit more enjoyable, well sometimes. Last weekend for the 4th we went over to my uncles house, and the boys gobbled up baked beans, potato salad and the sauce from macaroni salad along with cheesecake and cool whip! This week we have done more potato salad and some mashed taters with fruit in them. Praise God it was such a horrible time trying to get them to eat before, but we found out that they like stronger tasting foods, and textures!

I will as always leave you with some pictures :)

Cranky boys and cuddling

So Nate and Aiden have been extra cranky the last few days. And of course today was the worst for Nate. I had a splitting headache that was turning into a migraine and i could not console this kid for the life of me. Nate has been my cuddle bug the last week and a half. He sits with his legs spread across my belly and he lays his head on my chest. It makes me so happy that he wants to be with his momma now. It was so long that they wanted nothing to do with me. Now if he cries, I can console him, well most of the time. But today it was not happening. Come to find out... he has his two bottom teeth coming in! WHOA! I am so excited! You can see these two little white humps. Poor guy no wonder he was so unhappy! I will leave you all with a picture of how Kyle found them sleeping this afternoon.

New layout!

So you might have noticed the boys have a snazzy new layout! It is all thanks to a good friend Jessica from my mommies group. I will leave her link at the bottom of the post. I know that there are a lot of people who keep up with the boys with this blog, so I thought I would make it a little more appealing to the eye. Thank you again Jessica! You rock chicka!
