Aiden's Suergry Date has been set!!
Hello everyone! I come bearing wonderful news! Aiden will be having his ileostomy take down surgery on Valentine's day, February 14. We have to take him in on the 13th at 10 a.m. so they can start his preparatory work up before his surgery. On February 5th at 1 p.m., he has to have what is called a water soluble digital colostogram to make sure that none of the other parts of the intestine have died. Then after he is cleared from that, we just wait for Valentines day! I will keep everyone updated on his progress and I will also be sure to let everyone know how surgery goes!
Today's Surgeon Appointment
Today is the day we see how his progress has been, and we will also get a date or at least more of a time frame on when his second surgery will be to put everything back together. Certainly we would love to hear that they want to schedule for next week, but it is a possibility that the surgeon will want to wait until RSV season is over, which is not until April. Caring for twins is hard on its own, but when you have to care for twins that are premature, one who has an ostomy, and also take care of an 8 year old, mostly by yourself because your lovely sweet husband in training works and goes to school full time, it gets a bit over whelming. Having to change the back every other day or when it starts to leak or fall off, burp (yes burp) the bag when it is full of air (baby gas), and make sure he doesn't cry (which is not easy to do) so his hernia doesn't get worse is what we go through everyday, and that is just with his ostomy and the hernia that has formed around it. So yes, I want the doctor to see us at 10 a.m. tomorrow for our appointment and then go have lunch and scrub in at 1 p.m. to do his surgery, but we know that is not realistic. Aiden needs prayers that his intestines have had enough time to rest and that no more of the intestine has died, and he has gained enough weight and the doctor is happy with his progress. I will update everyone tomorrow on what the plan is. So cross fingers, knock on wood, or do what everyone has done best thus far... Pray that we are on track for surgery to happen soon.

Another day in the life of Aiden and Nathaniel
So today was a pretty traumatic day for Aiden. Early this afternoon he got his Synagis shot so he wasn't too happy about that. Aiden now weighs 7 lbs 2 oz. Nate weighs 9 lbs even! Huge I tell you! Chunkers. Also Aiden had his eye appointment, and it went well. The doctor said it looks like his eyes are trying to fix themselves, it is just going to take a long time. We don't have to go back for another 2 weeks now. So good deal. Next Friday is a big day for Aiden. We go to see his surgeon to see if he can be put back together! YAY! Here are few pictures for your viewing pleasure :)

Fatty Fatty Bo Batty
So today the boys weighed in at......
Aiden 7 pounds even!
Nathaniel 8 pounds 9 ounces!
OH MY! They are going to eat me out of house and home. So they are supposed to be only 2 weeks and 2 days old today... Instead they are 3 months 1 week and 2 days old. Sadness. My little men are growing up. I really need to get pictures up here soon! I promise I will!

Makes you wanna dance

How awesome is our God? For those of you who don't know these two wonderful people, this is Kevin (our pastor) and his wife Tonni. Tonni was my 8th grade teacher and also my Color Guard coach. For the last 2 years since my mom passed almost 7 years ago, they have been like my mom and dad (even though they are not old enough ha ha). I could not have imagined this pregnancy and afterwards without them. This is the first time that they have seen the boys outside of the hospital together. This is also the first and only picture we have of the boys with them. We are going to have to change that!
On that note, today was Aiden's eye appointment. Nothing has changed... nothing worse nothing better. SO we are in the same spot we were this time last week. We go back next Friday to see how things are progressing or regressing. I will keep everyone in the know!
