Almost 7 months

Where has the time gone? Well as of Monday Aiden is 13 1/2 lbs and Nate is 14 1/2 lbs and they are both 24 inches long. We see the high risk clinic on Thursday next week to see where they want to go from here with their feeds and with their development. Speaking of development... MRDD will be out to do their evaluations May 13th to see if they are behind and what we need to do. We go June 18th to see the plastic surgeon about their helmets. I am not sure why they are waiting so long, but I am going to talk to high risk about it when we go there. The lady on the phone said they didn't have anything sooner. So we will see.

The boys had their first tummy time in the grass yesterday and seemed to like it. They have really found their voices and are not afraid to use them! They really hate eating from a spoon. I have tried working with them for a few days now, and it is just not going well. I think I am going to give them a rest with it and talk to speech therapy when we go to high risk. Well, that is about all for now. I promise I will try to post more.

Seeing Stars

So I have been a total slacker on their blog. So here we go! As of Friday the 4th of April, Nathaniel weighed in at 13 lbs 5 oz, and Aiden weighed in at 12 lbs 6 oz. They are growing like weeds! It looks like Aiden will have to wear a cranial band, and it is very possible that Nate will have to as well. I have to call the neurosurgeon tomorrow to make an appointment to find out for sure. Both of the boys are smiling and giggling like crazy and they sleep from mid-night to 10 a.m. Don't ask me how we did it because I have no idea! They have been pretty down and out these last few days kind of sickish... not too sure if it left over from what Kyle and I had last week or if it is just a small cold. We have moved into a new house. It has 3 extra rooms that we didn't have at the old house. So it is nice to be able to have room to move. I will promise to keep everyone updated more.

5 Months today!!

So the boys are 5 months old today! WOW! I can not believe how time has flown! They are doing wonderfully. Aiden's eyes have really improved two weeks ago they were stage 2 zone 3 and yesterday they were stage 1 zone 3. That is a big improvement! They have not been weighed in a week or so but I am thinking that Aiden is 10+ lbs and Nate is about 12+ lbs. Their sleeping patterns are getting a little better. On average they are sleeping 5-7 hours a night, which is a big help to us. I will make sure to try and update this a little more than I have, but things are moving along well with them!

My boys are growing up so fast!!!

So the boys went to the doctor today Aiden weighs 9 lbs 10 oz and Nate weighs 11 lbs 4 oz. The doctor gave us the go ahead to feed them cereal once a day from a spoon! Nate started out great then he was pretty upset half way through. Aiden was really iffy at first but took about 12 spoonfuls! Amazing! My boys are growing up so fast!!!

Milestones this week

It has been a really big week for the boys! Both of the boys are now seeing. I mean looking us dead in the eye as to say "Hello there". Along with that, they are also smiling! SMILING! So many parents take for granted what their children do on a day to day bases. Our boys have been through so much, and they are not by any means "in the clear" yet. Aiden has surgery this coming up week on Thursday. Hopefully he will be home a few days after, but it is all up to him. They told us that they want us to be there as much as we can, basically over night, but there is no way I can swing that. I have two other children here at home that I need to take care of. So Kyle's ma is taking off from her normal day job and is going to stay with Nathaniel while I go be with Aiden during the day. When Kyle is home, I will go down and hangout with him some more. Life has been pretty busy, Kyle is still looking for a job. Not too much luck with that, but we are making ends meet... barely but we are. Being a stay at home mom is proving to be harder on us than we originally thought.
